At the Affiliated Kindergarten of Zhonghai Primary School,
children grow up surrounded by books.
In every corner of the kindergarten,
they read quietly and grow gently.

On this World Book Day, the wonderful worlds within picture books are no longer confined to the page. We bring stories to life, transforming words into vivid scenes and guiding children through immersive experiences. Stories are no longer just static text, but become something they can see, feel, and take part in.

Children begin their reading journeys anytime, anywhere… Every page holds new surprises. We always encourage little kids to read, because books can take the heart to places the feet cannot reach.
When children step into the picture book Come to the Concert, real instruments come alive before them, and gentle melodies fill the air. They experience the beauty of music firsthand, learning to listen attentively and appreciate proper etiquette—making reading full of sound and warmth.

As they enter the warm world of Alpaca, its soft fur and gentle presence feel almost within reach. No longer relying on imagination alone, children explore through close interaction and observation, turning knowledge from books into a comforting and tangible experience.

In the lively setting of Broccoli Hair Salon, children become playful “vegetable customers,” laughing and role-playing as they immerse themselves in the story. Through joy, they come to understand kindness and beauty, and reading becomes filled with fun and laughter.

In the imaginative world of A Train Station in My Belly, children transform into little “digestive helpers,” experiencing the journey of food digestion firsthand. Without rigid instruction, they naturally learn healthy habits—making reading a source of growth and understanding.

Following the journey of The Very Hungry Caterpillar, real caterpillars crawl slowly before their eyes. Children observe movement and transformation up close, gaining an intuitive understanding of life and growth—making reading vivid and alive.

Entering the imaginative world of Runaway Town, children and teachers become creative “little magicians,” exploring the surprising combinations of things. Without rigid explanations, imagination unfolds naturally, and children develop a love for creativity and exploration.

At the Affiliated Kindergarten of Zhonghai Primary School, we believe that every character in a book resonates with children, and every story carries its own light. When reading meets music, stories come alive in new ways, helping children see that the world within books is never just black and white.

On World Book Day, children not only immerse themselves in reading, but also gather for lively discussions and mini debates. Though small in stature, they share big ideas—learning to express themselves and listen to others, allowing reading to grow into thinking and communication.

One picture book, one moment in time—a gentle conversation with childhood. The world is vast, filled with mountains, rivers, seas, and forests of imagination; hearts are warm, with friendship and kindness along the way. A childhood nourished by books becomes a lifelong source of warmth and strength.
We plant the seeds of reading in kindergarten not to raise “little adults,” but to protect the light in children’s eyes—so they may discover different lives, experience a range of emotions, and learn to love and be loved through stories.
