Brief introduction of Norihisa Kobayashi: Vice dean and professor of the Institute of Engineering at Chiba University, Japan. He is an authoritative expert in the field of international optoelectronic functional materials and semiconductor optoelectronic devices. He is mainly engaged in the research of semiconductor optoelectronic devices. The world's first metal reversible electrodeposition electroluminescence technology, developed an electrochemical dual-mode display system with multi-state optical response, and built the world's first bio-organic thin film transistor memory. He founded the interdisciplinary discipline of "Biological Template Optoelectronics" and won 55 honors including the ISJ Imaging Technology Award, promoting the innovation of electronic paper technology towards low power consumption and high color gamut. The DNA-rare earth hybrid luminescent material system he developed was rated as a "photonics milestone" by Nature Reviews Materials.

What a joy it is to have friends from far away! On the morning of April 11, Professor Norihisa Kobayashi, deputy dean of the Graduate School of Engineering at Chiba University, Japan, and his delegation visited our school. The two parties had an in-depth exchange of new ideas and new methods of science education, injecting new momentum into the development of science education in our school. Professor Duan Yu, teachers Lu Chunling and Li Xuming of Jilin University, Zhao Huijing, a science teaching researcher in Jingyue District, three vice principals of Zhonghai Primary School Yang Bo (female), Zhou Ying and Wang Lin, and representatives of teachers and students accompanied the visit and discussion.

Professor Xiaolin and his delegation visited the school's Maker Space, Forest and Happy Valley, Zhonghai Farm, and various functional classrooms, and experienced the strong scientific education atmosphere and unique campus cultural construction of Zhonghai up close. Professor Xiaolin sighed: "Zhonghai Primary School is the most outstanding school I have ever seen. The children are full of fantastic ideas, the teachers are professional and enthusiastic, and the school is deeply involved in scientific education... This is a powerful manifestation of its long-term focus on the cultivation of scientific literacy!"

In the "Forest·Valley of Joy", Professor Xiaolin saw various characteristic animals and plants, the Northeast shacks built by teachers and students, and the meteorological observation station designed and constructed by students... He couldn't help but admire and felt the educational philosophy of Zhonghai Primary School of "education at all times and science everywhere"!

In the maker space on the fourth floor, everyone admired the handicrafts of Shanghai children in the school’s science class: small scientific musical instruments made by fourth-grade students to explore the mysteries of sound, silk fans made by third-grade students who raised silkworms and peeled cocoons, towers built by sixth-grade students using straws, and mugwort ointment and mugwort hammer made by the 24 solar terms "Qingming" themed course.

Professor Xiaolin and his party also watched several representative learning achievements of the Haiwa children: Wang Yichen, the gold medal winner of the 76th Nuremberg International Invention Exhibition, displayed his inventions; Duan Xinning, Pan Mohao, and Zhang Xiaoqi, the gold medal winners of the super craftsman project of the National Primary and Secondary School Student Labor Skills and Intelligent Design Competition, presented as a team. The children introduced their participation experience and the design concept and production process of their works, and demonstrated on-site how to control a car to pass obstacles; Feng Yihang and Gong Erchun, silver medal winners in the UAV precision control project of the National Youth Labor Skills and Intelligent Design Competition, also gave wonderful model aircraft performances, which won high praise and recognition from the guests.

Afterwards, everyone came to the conference room for in-depth discussions. As a national outstanding STEM education school and a scientific education and research demonstration base for primary and secondary schools in Jilin Province, our school has always been committed to the innovative practice of science education. Team leader Sui Lide gave a brief introduction to the core concepts, team building, space use, curriculum development and achievements of science education in our school with the title of "Sowing the Seeds of Science in Children's Hearts - "Science +" Innovation Practice with Zhonghai Characteristics".

The students also seized this hard-won learning opportunity and asked Professor Xiaolin interesting questions about scientific experiments, scientific reading, inventions and creations, etc., which fully demonstrated the excellent qualities of Haiwa students who are confident, generous and good at thinking and inquiry.

As an authoritative expert in the field of international optoelectronic functional materials and semiconductor optoelectronic devices, Professor Norihisa Kobayashi elaborated on the children's problems. He encouraged the children to maintain a strong interest in daily learning, be good at asking questions and seeking knowledge, continue to explore and practice, and find answers in life.

At the end of the discussion, the school leaders appointed Professor Xiao Lin as the “Honorary Tutor of Science Education” of Zhonghai Primary School. Since then, the school has used scientific education as a bridge to open a new chapter in international exchanges!

The highest state of education is to lead students to a wider world. This face-to-face exchange with authoritative experts in the field of science will encourage Haiwa to continue exploring in the learning space, lead science teachers to continuously surpass on the road of education, broaden the research horizons of science education in our school, promote the overall improvement of the school's science education level, and lay a solid foundation for cultivating future scientific and technological talents!
