Hey there, dear children!
Here is a gift that has been carefully prepared for a long time,
Waiting for you to open it,
Looking forward to seeing the bright, joyful smile on your face when you meet it!
The brightest thing in the sky is the moon; the most beautiful thing on earth is childhood. Childhood is the most carefree time in a child's life; childhood is also a fleeting, brilliant star in the Milky Way. In this season between spring and summer, we eagerly welcome the holiday that belongs exclusively to children — "International Children's Day." At this moment, the Galaxy Primary School Kite Festival has arrived as scheduled. This is a long-planned encounter, and also the best gift we give to our children on this special day!
Kites and Yinhe: Experiencing the Integration of Subjects
Changchun Nanhu Experimental Yinhe Primary School Kite Festival is an extension of the school's themed project-based integrated curriculum, "Fun with Kites, Chasing Dreams in Yinhe." It enables students to appreciate the richness and depth of kite culture, experience its charm and joy, while also inspiring their love for traditional culture.
Let's turn back time to the beginning of the school year. Since the start of the semester, the school's teachers and students have embarked on a spring-to-summer journey — the kite-themed project-based integrated curriculum. Centered around the science, the project curriculum encourages students to comprehensively apply knowledge from other disciplines such as art, mathematics, Chinese, and physical education. It focuses on students' personalized and diverse learning and development needs, effectively enhancing their observation, innovation, and hands-on skills.

In science class, children study the structure of kite frames and design kite structures — this is where the kite dream begins.

In art class, children paint their own unique kites, filled with colors and vibrancy…

In PE class, children hold kite strings and fly their kites. The kites they made with their own hands, carrying their little dreams, soar into the blue sky, flying freely!

The school also specially invited teachers from the Changchun Kite Association to share knowledge about kites with the children.
Kites on a string compete high and low; the future without limits is full of possibilities.
Over the past two months, children have grown from kite "beginners" to "little experts" in integrated subjects such as Chinese, science, art, and physical education. They have also experienced the consistent nurturing of their growth through the collaborative education system that breaks down barriers between home, school, and community.
Soaring Paper Kites: Painting Colorful Childhood Kite Dreams
On the afternoon of May 31st, the opening ceremony of the Kite Festival was held on the school playground. Leaders from the provincial, municipal, and district levels, as well as from sister schools, joined nearly 3,000 teachers and students in participating in this event.
Traditional culture is not only a symbol, but also a force. The continuation of Chinese civilization requires passing the torch, and cultural inheritance is a crucial responsibility that the Education in Yinhe holds dear. The three torchbearers, symbolizing the passing of the torch, represent the joint efforts of home, school, and community in safeguarding the pulse of culture.

In this curriculum, a total of 2,762 students participated, achieving a 100% participation rate. A total of 2,943 works were submitted. After nearly three months of competition, the outstanding works of 25 students were finally selected. This encouragement serves as the driving force for children to continue pursuing their dreams.

The creative kite works made by the children make people want to take them home!
Dynamic Performances
Our school has always attached great importance to inheriting and preserving traditional Chinese culture. As a traditional Chinese game, the diabolo has a long history. Small as it is, the diabolo spins and turns with great charm. Look! The students from the Grade 4 Diabolo Club are performing skillfully!

The team flags flutter with lofty aspirations, and the sounds of drums and bugles accompany growth. The school drum and bugle corps plays with classic elegance, showcasing the spirit of young pioneers in the new era. The blaring bugles express their vision for a bright future of the motherland.
The kite, “Chasing Dreams in Yinhe”, was hand-painted by the children. A kite symbolizes freedom and carries the splendor of childhood. Notably, on both sides of the kite are ribbons designed by students from six grades, with every student’s signature on each ribbon. This means that when the kite soars, it also carries all the children’s hopes and dreams into the blue sky.
In the dynamic experience area, children can make their own kites, paint their favorite patterns and weave their favorite styles, enjoying themselves to the fullest.
"Fun with Kites" – of course, the Happy Kitchen is not to be missed! Look, the children are busy making handmade snacks for the visitors!
Various other exhibition areas also offer colorful activities, including kite art and model experiences, keeping the children fully engaged and amazed.
For the children, flying the kites they made themselves with their best wishes written on them is of extraordinary significance.
Finale – Better to Chase the Wind Than Wait for It
With this, the project-based integrated course themed on kites has come to a successful conclusion. Students have expressed their joy and insights through essay-writing activities.
"Better to chase the wind than wait for it. Children’s growth should be like a kite, soaring freely across the vast sky."
"The most exciting moment was flying the kite I made in PE class. My heart seemed to fly high with the kite into the blue sky."
Little kites sway gently in the warm late spring and early summer breeze, setting free the children’s pure hearts. Here, colorful kites hold hopes and fly with dreams. The wind carries the kites, the kites adorn the sky, and together on the ground, we form a vibrant "Yinhe" world.
The future is as vast as the ocean with boundless days ahead.
As International Children’s Day approaches, Yinhe Primary School wishes every child a happy Children’s Day!
The future belongs to you!
